Deer Update

City staff continues to carry out the directive of City Council. The deer population in Grand Haven is found to be a nuisance in some neighborhoods. Deer continue to eat away at popular varieties of landscaping, and we implement all methods to provide relief.

This problem is not unique to Grand Haven. The following link will take you to an article from the Sunday, November 15, 2009 Grand Rapids Press.

There is substantial additional information on the City's website - you can use this link to get to the main deer management page:

In 2010 we will be counting deer, we will be listening to citizen input, we will be working collaboratively with our neighboring municipalities and we will be discussing this issue as needed at City Council meetings.
